At DeRossett church of Christ we are an independent congregation that tries to follow the First Century Teachings of the Lord’s Church as closely as possible, using only the Holy Inspired Word of God. We believe that the Lord’s church as preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1), to the Jews present, revealed how they could obtain salvation and entrance into the kingdom of God; and later on to Gentile converts (Acts Chapter 10). Verse 47 of Acts chapter 2 reads, “and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved”. Those who were saved on the day of Pentecost were those who had repented and were baptized according the instructions given by Peter in verse 38 of Acts chapter 2. The Plan of Salvation which is laid out in Romans 6:17:
- Hear the word (Romans 10:17)
- Believe the gospel (Hebrews 11:6; Mark 16:16)
- Repent (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
- Confess Christ (Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10)
- Be baptized (Acts 2:38; 22:16)
We at DeRossett:
- Worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24)
- Partake of the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week (1 Corinthians 10:16; 11:20-30; Acts 20:7)
- Sing a cappella (Ephesians 5:18-19)
- Pray (Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 25)
- Give as we have been prospered (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7)
- Preach the Word (Acts 2:42; 20:7)
GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS YOU TO BE SAVED: You can know this from hearing and understanding the message of the good news of Jesus Christ. God loved the world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to dwell on earth as a real human being. He allowed His Son to be sacrificed for our sin. The perfection of Jesus replaces our state that is marred by sin. His perfect life and perfect sacrifice allow us to have a relationship with God in His righteousness and holiness. (see John 3:16, Ephesians 2:1-6)
We would love to have you visit the church of Christ at DeRossett, where you are “not only welcome, but loved, and loved unconditionally”.
